Wow what a awesome lake! Five days of practice with 20-30 fish per day. A strong cold front came thru just before the tournament started and I was pretty confident these fish would move tighter to cover and that is exactly what they did. I had to change things up and go flipping into very heavy cover. Some of these fish were 15-20' deep into the buck brush, hay grass, and giant salvinia. And those were the three ingredients that I needed to get the bigger fish to bite. I fell short on the first day mostly because i made a decision to stay close to weigh-in sight in able to take advantage of the afternoon bite instead of running during the peak time. After weighing in a big bag on day two i moved up over 40 places to finish 21st. I am very satisfied with this finish as my main goal going into this tournament was a top 20 finish. I needed the good points and momentum going into grand. I want to thank all my sponsors, friends, and family for all the support!
